Dreams of tomorrow never ends
Every one of us feel some emptiness, a sense of void, a sense of incompleteness within and to get ride of this we indulge in lot of activities. You want to continuously occupy yourself with something to avoid the emptiness within. You are terribly afraid to spend with yourself. For example, you are unable to spend even a time span of 10mts with you. You find it very difficult. You find certain discomfort. You call your friend trying to fill it up. You go to a film trying to fill it up. You eat something trying to fill it up. You smoke, drink and so on, only to forget or to escape from the feeling of emptiness. All your desires are nothing but Just to fulfill this emptiness.
Let us have a closer look at the desires. You desire to buy a car, you desire to buy a bungalow, you desire to achieve a position in your workplace and so on. Let it be any desire. Of course there is nothing wrong in desiring these things but what happens when they are achieved. You still remain unfulfilled. Having climbed the top of the ladder you suddenly find no place to go anywhere. You feel frustrated. The western countries claim it as depression of success. That’s what happened to worlds Famous pop singer who went to the top of his fame. Similar is the case with the worlds famous football genius. After his success in football he fell into the hands of drugs, unconsciously searching for the sense of completeness. There are many more to point out. All the most popular people, when asked how they feel after achievement, they simply stretch out their hand.
With a marriage.
When you attain certain age, our so called society compels you to get marry. They guarantee you, that you will be fulfilled by marriage. Of course, the hormonal pull makes us to believe this. But what happens immediately after marriage? The reality is different. The fulfillment is only momentary. One feels a great surge of disappointment. This is carried deep down inside unconsciously, that he or she starts slowly projecting on his or her partner. And they start dominating over the other. They live together, for the sake of society and for their children but not for sake of themselves. Obviously then marriage becomes a failure. This way we are living our life dead. This has been very clearly said in our Upanishad. I am not totally against marriage. But this is a closer view of the unconscious behavior of the society. You may deny this, but however you deny, this is the truth. Whatsoever you do, you are doing it unconsciously.
When you search something outside of you for fulfillment, it is only momentary. It disappears thereafter. When the search is outside of you, know for sure it is unconscious and it ends somewhere in disaster.
Disappointment begins where your search ends. On the contrary, when the search is diverted within i.e. inside of you, then it is but conscious. Conscious effort gives you the feeling of completeness. It certainly gives you a sense of fulfillment. That is what we call it as bliss---a permanent happiness. What you are searching for, is only inside of you and not in the outside world. Meditation is the one and only possible way for the search within. I am not asking you to renounce all your desires nor do I ask you to become a sage or a saint. But I want everybody to live consciously. Keep all your desires. Let it be with you, but add little meditation to your life. It is the only way to live consciously and blissfully. In fact, all your desires will be fulfilled in Conscious living.
